contracts, intellectual property
Andrew joined Simmonds Stewart in 2017 after 25 years with a national law firm. Andrew is an expert in ICT, commercial contracts, and intellectual property.
Andrew’s wealth of experience means he is well-versed in dealing with almost any issue that may arise during the course of a negotiation – and he focusses on applying this knowledge to provide practical solutions for his clients. Andrew also works hard to ensure the contracts he is advising on reflect the actual deal and establish lasting relationships between the parties. In addition to his ICT and commercial contract work, Andrew advises a range of public and private sector organisations on IP issues, including related to copyright and trade marks.
His recent work includes:
- acting for a Crown entity on the procurement of a new cloud-based payroll system
- advising a NZ Crown Research Institute on its in-bound and out-bound IP licensing and commercialisation
- acting for New Zealand Police on a range of ICT procurements and contracts since 2001.
